As early as 1303, the city council of Nuremberg decided in a purity law that only barley malt should be used for brewing beer. This regulation marks the beginning of the well-known Nuremberg beer history. With many ups and downs, beer brewing will take you through the city’s history.
With information about the history of beer begins the tour through the rock cellars under Nuremberg. At the exit, hops and malt and brewing are reported at the first beer tasting in the Altstadthof brewery. The tour ends with a visit to the Whisky storage and the Bierothek; The Nuremberg Rotbier will be presented here as part of a commented tasting
